Yesterday, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change r4opened the registration for Government and Expert Review of the Second Order Draft of the 2027 IPCC Methodology Report on Inventories for Short-lived Climate Forcers.
The draft was revised following comments received during the First Order Draft expert review and will now be reviewed simultaneously by governments and experts. The review aims to ensure that the report provides a balanced and comprehensive assessment of the latest scientific findings.
The review period will run from 31 August to 25 October 2026 at 23:59 GMT+1.
As an IPCC observer organization, AGNES the encourages African experts and governments to participate in the review process, ensuring the report sufficiently reflects Africa’s diverse contexts, scientific evidence, and experiences, strengthening its relevance, inclusiveness and credibility. . Experts will review the report in their individual capacity and will not represent the organizations that encouraged their participation.
Registration for prospective Expert Reviewers closes on 18 October 2026 at 23:59 GMT+2.
