The African Group of Negotiators Experts Support (AGNES) and Ghana’s Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding establishing a framework for cooperation on climate research, policy and action.
The partnership aims to strengthen research, evidence and knowledge generation on climate change and its linkages with other sectors of Ghana’s economy. It will also advance the climate science-policy-practice nexus by supporting the translation of scientific knowledge into practical evidence for policymaking, planning and implementation.
By bringing together CSIR’s scientific and technological expertise and AGNES’ experience in providing evidence-based technical support to African governments and climate negotiators, the partnership will contribute to stronger connections between research, policy formulation and climate action.
