Timothy Ogenyi
Timothy Ogenyi is a Sustainable Energy Expert with hands-on experience in Climate Governance, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Stakeholders Mapping/Community Engagement and Advocacy. He has a B.Sc. in Environmental Resource Management, Ebonyi State University, Ebonyi, Nigeria. A serial researcher, he is currently a Research Fellow at the Center for Climate Change and Development, headquartered at Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ebonyi State, Nigeria; and as a volunteer for several NGOs, he is currently the Senior Climate Policy Analyst at the Society for Planet and Prosperity, where he led, the first-of-its-kind study in Nigeria, to Mapping Climate Impacts, Policies and Action Plans at the Subnational Level in Nigeria, which was followed by another milestone study on Subnational Climate Governance Performance Ranking of the 36 States of Nigeria.
He is a leader, a team player, a policy advocate, a writer and a learning and development facilitator, especially coaching and training young people on green skills. Timothy is an ardent advocate for climate-smart agriculture practices and locally-led adaptation measures that mainstream bottom-up approaches in building the climate resilience of Indigenous communities, especially for local farmers. In addition, he is passionate about Climate Education, Achieving the SDGs, Youth-led Climate Action, Environmental Sustainability, and Community Policy Advocacy.
