Saul Samwel Kagomba
Mr. Saul Samwel Kagomba works as a Tutorial Assistant in Disaster Risk Management at Dar es Salaam University College of Education since 2022. He holds a BA in Geography and Environmental Studies from Mwenge Catholic University (Moshi – Tanzania). Before joining the University of Dar es Salaam, he spent two years (2019-2021) as Local Expert at Moshi District Council on a GIZ Funded Project-Experts for Municipal Partnerships Worldwide (FKPW) and achieved to solicit a lump sum of 180,000 USD project funds to serve the region in Climate Adaptation and Health services. He previously served in different leadership capacities in Moshi District and Moshi Municipal Councils at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in the field of Environmental Management. As well, International Development partners specifically the Global Affairs Canada, Germany Agency for International Development Cooperation (GIZ), Engagement Global Ltd, and the City of Kiel from Germany for 7 years, ranging from Municipal Partnership Coordinator to Local Expert. Also, since 2023 he has been part of Junior Expert for Sub-Saharan Countries on a “Learning Process on Flood Management for Risk Informed Urban Development”. The program is jointly organized by Resilience Initiative Africa (RIA), the Global Initiative for Disaster Risk Management (GIDRM), the German Association of Cities (DST) and GIZ. He has a commendable experience in community-based practice projects that advocate on livelihood improvement and climate action. He is on move to start a Master’s degree program in areas of Climate Change and Disaster Management.
