Sally Wambui Gakuo
Sally Wambui Gakuo is an astute Clinical Medicine Professional with hands-on experience in health management, community engagement, and advocacy. She holds a Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Surgery and Community Health from Kenya Methodist University and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine and Community Health from Mount Kenya University. Currently, she is a UNICAF scholar pursuing an MSc in International Public Health at Liverpool John Moores University and Diploma in Economics and Management at the London School of Business Studies.
A serial volunteer for several NGOs, Sally is the Local Coordinator – Kenya for African Students For Liberty and an active member of the East African Community Youth Peace and Security Platform.
Sally is passionate about leadership and has held various leadership roles, including being the first female Secretary General Elect of the Clinical Medicine Students Association at Kenya Methodist University and the first Appointed National Secretary General of the Bachelor of Clinical Medicine Graduates Association. She is an alumna of AGNES Climate Governance, Diplomacy and Negotiations leadership program Cohort XV, ISGlobal Barcelona International Summer School of Global Health, INCO Academy, Girls With Impact Summer Business School & McKinsey Forward Learners Accelerate Program.
She is currently a YALI Fellow Cohort 58 and Aspire Leadership Program cohort 3 student. She has served as a youth delegate for the World Bank Group Youth Summit 2024, International Youth Conference (IYC10) and the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Ghana, focusing on adaptability, resilience, and nature-based solutions.
Additionally, she has been nominated for the Utumishi Awards – Leadership Category, offered by the Kenya Christian Professionals Forum (KCPF). Sally’s goal is to continue advocating for health, inclusivity, libertarianism, peace, and many other initiatives across Africa and globally.
