Obianuju Patience Ilo
Obianuju Patience Ilo is a postdoctoral research fellow with the School of Geography, Archaeology and Environmental Studies, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. She earned a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, a master’s degree in Energy and Environmental Management from the University of Abertay Dundee, United Kingdom, and a bachelor’s degree in Animal and Environmental Biology from Abia State University Uturu, Nigeria.
Dr. Ilo has over twelve years of significant industry experience that cuts across climate change mitigation and adaptation, sustainability, energy security, biodiversity conservation, solid waste management, and environmental resource management. A result-oriented researcher who is passionate about translating theoretical know-how into practical solutions. She has published peer-reviewed papers, which have been cited several times, and has attended conferences where she presented her scientific works.
Dr Ilo also served as the Project Manager of the Barcode of Wildlife Nigeria 2015, a Google Impact Awards grant to the Consortium for the Barcode of Life. She has won several prestigious awards and scholarships.
