Nicholas Kimuli
Nicholas Kimuli is a passionate environmentalist and forestry expert based in Kampala, Uganda, with a strong focus on promoting sustainable forest management. He holds a Bachelor of Conservation Forestry and Production Technology from Makerere University, where he graduated with First Class Honors, reflecting his academic excellence and deep commitment to environmental conservation. Nicholas has gained extensive experience through various roles in research, forestry, and environmental management. He is a Research Assistant at Makerere University’s Department of Plant Science, supporting ethnobotanical and conservation projects. His prior roles include working with the International Research Consortium, where he utilized GIS tools for data collection, and contributing to community-based restoration projects in Uganda’s forestry sector. In addition to his academic and professional pursuits, Nicholas has completed specialized training in climate resilience, carbon markets, and ecosystem-based adaptation, accredited by organizations such as the United Nations Climate Change Learning Partnership and GIZ. His hands-on experience spans biodiversity inventory, ecological surveys, and community sensitization programs aimed at climate change mitigation and forest conservation. Nicholas is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the Global Youth Biodiversity Network and the International Society for Tropical Foresters. His dedication to the field has earned him prestigious opportunities, such as attending the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) World Congress in 2024 and participating in the Climate Leadership Program
