Nancy Cheki
Nancy Cheki is a specialist on gender and climate justice with hands-on experience in promoting community initiatives on ecosystem restoration and alternative livelihoods, advocating for policies that promote environmental conservation, climate justice and inclusion of vulnerable communities. Nancy has a BSc. in Environmental Management and Conservation in Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. She has been consistently volunteering in a number of organizations and is currently working as the Program Officer at the Young Women’s Christian Association, Kenya. Through her work, Nancy is dedicated to fostering equality and environmental sustainability and amplifying the voice of the youth, women and Persons with Disability by advocating for inclusivity and equity. She has actively participated in the development and implementation of climate policies at the local, national and international levels, while collaborating with policymakers, partnering organizations, and the local communities. She has been actively contributing to local and global environmental discourse by participating in the Conference of Parties. Nancy is passionate about climate policies because she believes that well-crafted and robust policies are essential for driving systemic change and ensuring an inclusive and sustainable future.
