Moliehi Mafantiri
Moliehi Mafantiri is an environmental scientist interested in sustainable development, the just transition, climate policy and climate action. With a Bachelor Honours Degree in Geography and Environmental Management she is a registered candidate Environmental Assessment Practitioner (Cand. EAP) in South Africa with knowledge of climate change, environmental law, environmental impact assessment and urban anthropology. She works as a Research & Policy Officer at the Climate Action Network South Africa(SACAN). Owing to her interest in the energy landscape, she serves the BRICS Youth Energy Agency International Partnerships and Policy Advocacy Expert Group, contributing to the development of the BRICS Youth Energy Outlook 2024. As a youth advocate, she is a member of the Youth Reference Committee 2023 associated with the African Union’s Office of the Youth Envoy and was selected as 1/100 youth in the COP28 Presidency’s International Youth Climate Delegate Program where she received training on climate diplomacy from the Harvard Kennedy School and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
