Meshack Muatha Kimanzi is a detail-oriented meteorologist with expertise in meteorological data analysis and forecasting, specializing in aviation meteorological forecasting. As an Early Career Climate Fellow at AGNES, he has actively participated in various activities, tasks, and training sessions, including policy reviews and indicators meta-data analysis, fieldwork exercises focused on data collection and mapping, workshops and meetings, report writing, and concept note and project proposal development. A key achievement in project proposal development has been leading the capacity-building exercise Strengthening Capacities of African Countries on Adaptation Finance (SCACAF) and developing the climate intervention proposal titled Impacts of Marine Cloud Brightening on the Atmospheric Dynamics in East Africa.
Previously, he worked as a Volunteer Data Analyst and Meteorologist at the National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) in Nairobi, Kenya, and held industrial attaché positions as an Aviation Meteorologist at JKIA Meteorological Watch Office and as a Meteorologist at the Kenya Meteorological Department. Academically, he is a Master of Science in Meteorology candidate at the University of Nairobi. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology with First Class Honors from the same institution, graduating on September 22, 2023. His achievements include receiving the Kenya Meteorological Society Excellence Award for Best Final Year Student in Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and holding Ordinary Membership in the Kenya Meteorological Society (KMS) under Membership No: MO-132.
Outside of his professional endeavors, he is an aviation enthusiast (Avgeek) with a passion for swimming and watching geopolitical documentaries.
