Leon Wesa Mulama is the Head of Legal Department and Local Representative at the African Group of Negotiators Experts Support (AGNES). An astute legal professional, he holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Karen Campus, and has a strong professional interest in International Law, Environmental Law, and Natural Resources Law. In his role, Leon oversees the organization’s legal services function, providing strategic legal advice, conducting legal research, and ensuring institutional compliance with applicable laws and regulations. He leads legal audits, drafts legal opinions, agreements, leases, and memoranda of understanding, and represents AGNES in official legal and compliance matters. Leon also supports governance processes by servicing the Board, safeguarding the organization’s intellectual property, coordinating legal-related projects and workstreams, and facilitating partnerships through the execution of collaborative agreements, thereby strengthening AGNES’s legal and institutional framework.
