Lawrence Otieno Jabuya
Lawrence Otieno Jabuya is a dedicated Agricultural Economics professional with extensive hands-on experience in research, project management, and community development. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Chuka University and is currently pursuing a PhD in the same field. Passionate about sustainable agriculture and economic development, Lawrence has worked on various high-impact projects including baseline surveys, monitoring and evaluation, and social impact assessments across Kenya’s agriculture, aquaculture, and livestock sectors.
As a Researcher, Supervisor, Research Assistant and Data Enumerator, Lawrence has contributed to initiatives such as the LEGEND Project, DRIVE Project, and AGRIFI, where he utilized tools like ODK among others for data collection and analysis. His expertise spans climate change assessments, food security, and agricultural policy, with a particular focus on empowering women and youth in rural communities. In addition to his technical skills, Lawrence has held key leadership roles, including being the current Vice Chairperson of the Chuka University Alumni Association and the Association of Agricultural Economists. He is also the founder of Amity Sustain Centre, an organization focused on sustainable development through innovative solutions in agriculture, education, and capacity building.
An AGNES Climate Governance, Diplomacy, and Negotiations Leadership Program graduate, Lawrence is committed to fostering resilience in communities by addressing climate challenges and promoting inclusive development.
