Joy Ifeyinwa Chikwendu
Joy Ifeyinwa Chikwendu is a lecturer of Parasitology and Entomology at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Nigeria. With a B.Sc. in Animal and Environmental Biology, and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Parasitology, Dr. Joy specializes in vector-borne pathogens including malaria, dengue fever and arboviruses whose prevalence is significantly impacted by climate, and is an advocate for sustainable and climate-safe solutions to public health challenges. Dr. Joy has published several peer-reviewed papers on parasitic diseases and vector control in both local and international journals, and actively collaborates with local and international researchers to foster innovative research on tropical diseases and environmental health. She is a dedicated educator, committed to stepping down knowledge gained to peers and mentoring the next generation of scientists in research on the impacts of climate change on the epidemiology of vector-borne diseases in Nigeria and Africa at large.
