Godwin Ayata
Godwin Ayata is a Geography and Natural Resources Management Professional with hands-on experience Natural Resources Management, Health, Gender inclusion, policy development and governance. Ayata holds BSc Geography and Natural Resources Management with Information Technology from Maseno university, Diploma in Human Rights, Mental Health and Recovery WHO and certificate in Research Ethics. Hands on training on climate Leadership, Governance and Negotiations by AGNES Africa, Climate justice activist by Nairobi Summer School cohort IV, Climate,OFSN Climate and Health Research Lab.
Serial volunteer for several NGOs and government institutions for career and technical development, currently serving as Gender, Youth and disability inclusion officer at Champion for Change Youth Network and Co-founder Community Green Organics Networks as the Vice Chairperson. In this journey I have been able to contribute to the development Homa Bay County Climate Change Policy, Comprehensive Community Managed Disaster Risk Response Plan, Sexual Gender Based Violence Policy, Homa Bay County Child Welfare and Protection Policy and Homa Bay County Integrated Development Plan.
I am committed in development of gender responsive strategies in climate change and health that will ensure inclusivity and meaningful youth engagement and to capacity build them to be change agents in the Africa continent as well as strengthening their sources of livelihood.
