Elfrida Tembo
Elfrida Tembo, from Malawi, is a dedicated climate advocate with hands-on experience in climate justice, gender equality, and community engagement. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Malawi. A passionate advocate for climate justice, women’s rights, and environmental sustainability, she serves as the Co-Executive Director of the Green Girls Platform, where she empowers girls and young women to take leadership roles in climate action, sustainability, and decision-making.
Following her training with AGNES, she had the opportunity to represent African youth in high-level climate negotiations during the African Group of Negotiators (AGN) position paper development for COP 29 in Kenya. As a committed volunteer, she has worked with several NGOs and is currently leading initiatives that promote gender-responsive climate policies and capacity building for grassroots communities.
She is also an ardent advocate for climate justice, gender equality, and climate finance models that empower vulnerable populations.
