Dr. George Wamukoya, OGW
Team Leader
Dr. George Wamukoya, OGW, is a distinguished policy expert with over 30 years of experience in environment and natural resources, climate change policies, and international climate change diplomacy. One of his notable achievements was his involvement as one of the 11 experts who facilitated negotiations and final adoption of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change at the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21) in Paris in 2015.
He has been actively involved in capacity building programs, including the training of judges and magistrates on the implementation of environmental law.
Dr. Wamukoya currently serves as the Team Leader of the African Group of Negotiators Experts Support (AGNES), a think tank providing technical support to African governments and the African Group of Negotiators (AGN) in climate change policy formulation and decision-making. He is also the Program Director of the Climate Governance, Diplomacy, and Negotiations Leadership Program, which trains Africa’s future climate leaders.
