Dr. Akinnubi Rufus Temidayo currently serves as the Head of the Department of Physics at Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, where he is a Senior Lecturer. He has also lectured as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Medical Science, Ondo, and Wesley University of Science and Technology, Ondo. With over 15 years of experience as a Physics lecturer, Dr. Akinnubi began his academic journey at Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, affiliated with Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in 2004, followed by a Master’s Degree in Physics from the University of Ibadan in 2008. In 2015, he obtained his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Physics, specializing in Boundary-Layer Meteorology. Since 2009, Dr. Akinnubi has been actively involved with the Nigerian Micrometeorology Experiment (NIMEX), gathering extensive datasets on micrometeorological processes. His research has made significant contributions, including formulating a wind speed-dependent excess resistance parameter for the Aerodynamic Resistance Algorithm (ARA), which addresses the overestimation of diurnal turbulent heat fluxes in Global Climate Models (GCMs) for tropical regions. His research interests encompass climate change, rainfall, and land-atmosphere interactions, and he has published extensively in both national and international journals. Dr. Akinnubi is a member of various professional associations, has co-authored several books, and has participated in numerous conferences at national and international levels. He is also a recipient of TETFund Institution-Based Research grants focused on climate change and land surface flux modeling.
