Doreen Namwanje
Doreen Namwanje has been pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Forestry, specializing in Agroforestry at Makerere University. She is a nature enthusiast and enjoys engaging with communities especially for their sustainable development. She is currently unemployed since she has just finalized her studies. She has a high interest in Entomology and Agroforestry as a nature-based solution to climate change, food security and has conducted a case study on the “Role of Agroforestry in enhancing food security in Kamuli village, Wakiso District in Uganda”.
She has also conducted a special project report on the “Assessment of farmers’ knowledge and experience on termite infestation and management in Agroforestry in Mukono District, Uganda”. She has gained experience from her internship, which was conducted at Nile Forestry Agro-Inputs and Engineering Services Limited in Lira District, Uganda. She has also gained hands-on experience during the recess trainings from Budongo Central Forest Reserve as well as Nyabyeya Forestry College. Doreen has participated as a virtual delegate at the Global Youth Climate Summit and she looks forward to engaging in more climate change related summits as well as integrating Agroforestry as a nature-based solution.
