Cynthia Muthoni
Cynthia Muthoni is a dedicated advocate for sustainable, socially just, and gender-equitable societies, with over a decade of experience working alongside local communities, NGOs, government bodies, and international organizations. She holds a B.Sc. in Community Resource Management from
Kenyatta University, Nairobi and is pursuing an M.A. in International Studies at the University of Nairobi, with her thesis focusing on climate change regimes, the Paris Agreement, and their implications for the East African Community (EAC). This academic foundation, coupled with her practical experience, equips her with a unique global perspective and a deep understanding of regional dynamics.
Cynthia currently serves as a Programmes Officer at the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung in Kenya, where she focuses on Climate Justice, Urban Mobility, and Young Leadership. In this role, she drives initiatives that promote socially just climate policies, equitable access to socially just public transport, and the empowerment of young political leaders to shape a resilient future. Her work aligns with her broader goal of fostering inclusive community development and creating scalable solutions to address climate change and social inequities.
Her passion lies in making a lasting impact by bridging the gap between policy, practice, and community needs. Through her work at the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Cynthia aims to build a future where inclusivity and sustainability are at the heart of development, ensuring a better quality of life for all.
