Atu Obinna Andrew
Atu Obinna Andrew is an Agronomist and Agribusiness specialist, currently a Research Training Assistant/Field Agronomy in the Cassava Breeding/NEXT GEN project of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, IITA Onne station Rivers state, Nigeria. He obtained his MSc in Environmental Crop Science from Rivers State University Port-Harcourt, Post Graduate Diploma in Plant physiology & Crop Production Technology from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, and Bachelor of Agriculture in Crop Production and Landscape Management from Ebonyi State University, where he developed a deep understanding of ecological systems and sustainable practices. He contributed in campaigning and advocate for IITA Youth Agriprenur initiative program in 2012. He also supported the development of a continental-wide ENABLE-Youth program of the African Development Bank (AfDB). He is a strong advocate for the United Nations sustainable development goals with keen interest in SDG 1, 2, 4 and 13. He is passionate about climate change, food system and sustainability that cut across agriculture value chain.
Atu Obinna Andrew is a passionate individual with a strong dedication to advocating for positive change, particularly in the areas of climate action and environmental sustainability. He actively engages in efforts to raise awareness about the impact of climate change and works towards creating a more sustainable future. Atu Obinna is keen on technology transfer, he has also given several on-farm demonstration trainings in many states in Nigeria in the areas of crop agronomy, Climate change adaptation and mitigation, integrated pest management etc. He has authored and co-authored three publication on international journal.
