Athanase Hafashimana
Athanase Hafashimana is Rwandan PhD Student in Data Science at AIMS Research and Innovation Centre (AIMS RIC) and the African Centre of Excellence in Data Science (ACE-DS). His research work intersects climate seasonal forecasting and data science. Prior to starting his PhD, He did a master of mathematical sciences for climate change resilience at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Rwanda, College of Science and Technology. He has a hands-on experience in climate services such as seasonal forecasts from the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC). Moreover, He is a young African leader who is committed in transforming local and global communities through developing and sharing skills and knowledge that are critically important in prospering public management and civic leadership spaces. The kind of leadership that He believe in, is transformational leadership that equips individuals with necessary skills and tools to thrive in diverse spaces with intention to serve the community in a manner that can pay the price of purpose of both parties (served communities and a servant).
