Ann Perpeture Njeri
Ann Perpeture Njeri is a dedicated researcher in plant health, focusing on Nematology. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Chuka University in Kenya. After graduating, she was affiliated with the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), a joint nematology Laboratory in ICIPE Nairobi campus. Currently, Ann is a research consultant at icipe-IITA, where she conducts research on nematodes and is actively involved in training farmers on using environment-friendly pest management options. In addition to her research, Ann works closely with schools and youth-led groups. She has worked with hundreds of youths to raise awareness of climate change, advocating for implementing sustainable climate-smart technologies.
Ann is passionate about a sustainable Agri-food system. In 2024, she participated in the food system E-Course organized by Wageningen University and Research in collaboration with the Netherlands Food Partnership.
Ann also shares her research through her blogs at the Netherlands Food Partnership Connect (NFP Connect), an online platform dedicated to connecting food system actors in different parts of the world. Through her blogs, she effectively communicates her work to both scientific and non-scientific audiences, aiming to create awareness of how to make our Agri-food system resilient in the face of climate change.
