Abdiaziz Mohamed Sharmake
Abdiaziz Mohamed Sharmake is a passionate humanitarian with over five years of experience in refugee advocacy, education, and community development. Growing up in a refugee camp, he understands the challenges faced by marginalized communities and has dedicated his life to empowering others. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of the People and has worked with organizations like the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and RSC Africa, supporting refugee resettlement and providing essential services to vulnerable populations.
Abdiaziz is the founder of the Refugee Girls Education Initiative (RGEI) in Kakuma Refugee Camp, which empowers young girls through education and mentorship. He has also contributed to research with Oxford University’s Refugee Economies Program, gathering data on refugee livelihoods and advocating for social justice. Abdiaziz is deeply committed to creating inclusive, sustainable communities and continues to work toward promoting education and equity for all.
