I am sincerely grateful to AGNES for its continued investment in African youth and for creating opportunities for young people like me to learn, grow and contribute meaningfully to climate action. One of the most important opportunities in my journey was participating in the Climate Governance, Diplomacy and Negotiations Leadership Programme held from 18 July to 22 September 2022, which strengthened my understanding of climate governance and negotiations and continues to influence my professional journey today. During my time as President of the African Youth Initiative on Climate Change (AYICC), AGNES also supported young people through training on climate negotiations, helping participants build the knowledge and confidence needed to engage more effectively in climate policy processes. Looking back, this support went beyond training; it opened doors, built confidence and strengthened the capacity of young African climate leaders. Today, through the International Climate Change Development Initiative (ICCDI Africa), I continue to work with young people and communities on climate action, policy, leadership and sustainable development. I remain deeply grateful to AGNES for believing in the potential of young Africans and for the important role it has played in my journey, and I look forward to continued learning, collaboration and engagement in climate governance, diplomacy and negotiations.
