Cedric Dzelu is a Global Climate Change Ambassador of the World YMCA, the oldest and largest NGO in the world in the business of empowering the youth by providing young people with space and giving them the voice to enable them to transform their communities. He is currently the Director of Administration and Finance for the African Youth Commission which is a network of young people focused on working to achieve the Africa We Want, Agenda 2063.  The focal person for Africa on a five-year climate change advocacy project funded by the Netherlands government. He is also serving as a Board Member of the Ghana Tennis Federation and the Executive Director of Hope Performance Tennis Inc, a sports foundation based in the United States having operations in Ghana with the mandate of empowering young people through the game of Tennis Cedric Dzelu now walks in the footsteps of Max Thabiso Edkins as a World Bank Climate Change Ambassador with the ambitious task of providing leadership to young people and governments to confront their roles in addressing the climate crisis. With over 11+ years of experience, his expertise meets perfectly at the intersection of Climate Change Advocacy, communication, community development, marketing, finance, writing, community service and volunteering. This coupled with other work experiences has afforded him the opportunity to learn, lead, manage resources and plan finances such that project objectives are met. Cedric holds an MSc in Development Finance from the University of Ghana and a BSc in Marketing from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, (GIMPA). Cedric is a trailblazer in youth leadership, climate change advocacy, sports administration, youth justice, youth empowerment, safe space, volunteerism and gender inequality. His service and achievement are evidence and examples for many to follow. Cedric’s star shines on activities that seek to inspire positivity among young people to be drivers of change in their community. Cedric is an all-too-rare figure in today’s world where the quest for young people to be in the driver’s seat continues to be an increasing echo to many. Cedric has carved for himself an imperishable niche as a grass root mobiliser and implementer who is able to cascade outcomes of high-level conferences to have meaningful impacts on ordinary people in their communities.

Getnet Fantahun is an astute Agricultural economist and Adult Education & Community development with hands–on experience in Agricultural economics, and Adult Education and Community development Project planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, community engagement, and advocacy. He has a B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from Haramaya University (Sep. 2010 – July 2012) and MA in Adult Education & Community Development from Hawassa University (Feb. 2013 – March 2017). Since Sep. 2012 Gambella Bureau of Agriculture and Natural Resource Development as a plan preparation monitoring & evaluation expert, and from Jun 2017 till now in Environmental Protection Authority as Project preparation and M & E expert. In the authority, He has actively engaged in climate resource mobilization and helps him to participate in the preparation of national strategies and policies. Getnet Fantahun is the expert, Customer care and Enrollee Engagement at the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) where He currently works. A Climate Reality Leader trained by the Climate Reality Leadership Corp. He is an ardent advocate for Universal, and Ethiopia’s Climate Resilience Green Economy (CRGE) strategies, Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), and environmental sustainability.

Charmaine Phiri is a communication specialist who studied Journalism and Communication skills and has worked in the media industry for 8 years, She is an Alumni of the African Civic Engagement Academy (University of Georgia), an adjudicator and a certified public speaker, Diplomatic Business Networking Club member, an Acting Prime Minister for Super Alliance Sustainable Africa (SASA) headquarters in Kenya, which is a voluntary organisation with a mission to drive sustainable development by building thriving and resilient African communities. Ms Phiri’s professional interests include climate change, diplomacy, governance, inclusion, global affairs and civic engagement. She is a holder of a BCom in Marketing and Management Science (IMM) and also completed studies in Contemporary Diplomacy and International Relations and Monitoring & Evaluation which have prepared her to make sound decisions by collecting, analysing and critically evaluating research projects and programmes. Currently, she is a Personal Assistant to an Ambassador in the Diplomatic Mission in Zimbabwe.

The person named CHEIKHOUNA DIAGNE is a knowledgeable development engineer with hands-on experience in community management, community engagement and advocacy. He has a double master’s degree in territorial development and sustainable development issues and perspectives respectively at the Gaston Berger University in Saint Louis and the University of Alexandria in Cairo. He is a true climate policy actor for initiating the youth climate conference and participating in the largest scientific conference on sustainable development organized by Université Sherbrooke. He has worked with several UN agencies and non-governmental organizations. Currently working at UNICEF Senegal Bureau Dakar as a consultant on social entrepreneurship, he aims to do a thesis on climate finance.

Abdul Razak Hamid is an Assistance Technical Officer at Ghana Cocoa Board, where he provides extension services to farmers and manages district data for policy formulation. (more…)

Chen-Chen Cornelius is an individual of extraordinary skill and expertise in the field of water resources engineering and research, whose accomplishments are nothing short of impressive. Holding a B.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering from Busitema University in Uganda and currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering (Water Quality Engineering) at the prestigious University of Capetown, Chen-Chen is a true standout in his field. As the CEO of Wawtex Solutions Limited, one of the most innovative and respected companies in the water and energy solutions industry, Chen-Chen has distinguished himself as a top performer. He has designed, built and managed some of the most complex and advanced hydrological engineering concepts, and his track record of success is nothing short of exceptional. An avid volunteer, Chen-Chen has lent his considerable talents to several NGOs and environmental organizations, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to community service. Recently serving as the Program Coordinator for WaSH at the BIDS Foundation in Uganda, he also served as a Renewable Energy Expert on the Promotion Renewable Energy Efficiency and Energy Program in Northern Uganda. Chen-Chen also conducted research as a Youth Researcher on the impacts of climate change on the livelihoods of young people in Karamoja and Busoga regions in Uganda under Restless Development. As a Climate Advocate at FXB Climate Program and a Youth Ambassador and Mentor at Youth for Climate Restoration, Chen-Chen has shown an unwavering dedication to the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and SDG13 (Climate Action). With his technical expertise, analytical skills, and passionate commitment to service, Chen-Chen Cornelius stands poised to continue making an indelible impact in the field of water resources engineering and beyond.

She is a renewable energy enthusiast, a sustainable waste manager, an event planner,project manager, climate and clean energy advocate. IKAPI-MOUKAGNI Christ est un scientifique intéressé par les questions sur le changement climatique, il est membre de l’association FOVIGENA (Fondation Villageoise sur la Gestion de la Nature), volontaire des Nations Unies, bénévole pour le compte de plusieurs ONG. Il a un master en chimie organique, option Substances Naturelles obtenue à l’Université des Sciences et Techniques de Masuku au Gabon. Il a plusieurs certificats des instituts reconnus mondialement en génie pétrolier (Total Professeurs Associés) et en REDD+ (E-Académie REDD+). Il a une expérience pratique dans les énergies fossiles (secteur pétrolier). Actuellement il est stagiaire pour le gouvernement Gabonais au Conseil National Climat organe en charge de compiler les inventaires de gaz à effet de serre de tous les secteurs selon les recommandations de la CCNUCC, d’élaborer les politiques nationales sur le changement climatique, de préparer des documents techniques relatifs au domaine d’activité respectif et de vulgariser des informations relatives aux question du changement climatique.
