Africa stands as one of the most vulnerable regions to the impacts of climate change and extreme weather events, facing unprecedented challenges from rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, windstorms, and droughts. These environmental changes are not only disrupting ecosystems but exacerbating the existing vulnerabilities, creating new socio-economic and security challenges. Climate change fuels resource scarcity, deepens inequalities, and increases displacement, often triggering or intensifying conflicts.
Nowhere are these dynamics more evident than in Africa’s transboundary regions, where the intersection of climate and security presents both complex risks and opportunities for innovative policy solutions.
