The African Group of Negotiators Experts Support (AGNES) has been officially accredited as an Observer Organization to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and its governing bodies, including the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) and its subsidiary organs. This recognition follows a formal review process by the UNEP Governance Affairs Office, culminating in official confirmation on 13 November 2025.
This accreditation affirms AGNES’s role as a trusted continental actor in environmental governance and international climate diplomacy. As an observer, AGNES will receive invitations to attend public sessions of the UNEP and its related processes, thereby strengthening our ability to participate in global environmental fora.
