SUMMARY:Government of Kenya: Second Order Draft Review Workshop for the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Cities
DESCRIPTION: \n\n \n\nThe Kenya Meteorological Services Authority (KMSA)\, with support from the African Group of Negotiators Experts Support (AGNES)\, will convene an in-person Government Review Workshop on the Second Order Draft of the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Cities from 30 June to 2 July 2026 in Nairobi. This workshop builds on an earlier virtual engagement with experts\, policymakers and practitioners at national\, subnational and local levels. The virtual session introduced to the experts the Special Report\, its chapters\, the review requirements and the process for submitting comments. The in-person session will provide a further opportunity to deepen technical feedback\, consolidate inputs and align comments ahead of the submission deadline.

SUMMARY:THE 2026 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING OF THE AFRICA NETWORK OF PARLIAMENTARIANS ON CLIMATE CHANGE (ANPCC)
DESCRIPTION:From 8–9 October 2026\, the Africa Network of Parliamentarians on Climate Change (ANPCC) will hold its 2026 Executive Committee Meeting in Nairobi\, Kenya\, to take stock of the Network’s progress and agree on strategic priorities for 2026 and 2027. Established in 2024\, ANPCC provides a continental platform to strengthen collaboration\, exchange experiences and amplify a common African parliamentary voice on climate change. The meeting comes at a time when African countries continue to face significant climate impacts\, underscoring the importance of stronger legislation\, financing\, oversight and accountability in advancing climate action. Discussions will focus on reviewing previous activities\, strengthening the Network’s governance\, identifying opportunities for engagement ahead of COP31 and COP32\, and agreeing on an action plan for the coming period. The meeting will also provide an opportunity to update members on the CMAT\, a Parliamentary oversight tool\, gathering feedback on its development across Côte d’Ivoire\, Ghana\, Kenya\, Nigeria\, Zambia and beyond.
