THE FIRST 2025 BUREAU QUARTER MEETING OF THE AFRICA NETWORK OF PARLIAMENTARIANS ON CLIMATE CHANGE

The Africa Network of Parliamentarians on Climate Change (ANPCC) is a collaborative platform that brings together African lawmakers to advance legislative action on climate change across the continent. Established to enhance climate governance, the network focuses on policy formulation, implementation, and monitoring of climate-related laws. During its first 2025 Bureau Quarter Meeting, scheduled for February 24-26 in Nairobi, Kenya, ANPCC will deliberate on the Model Climate Change Law for Africa, a framework aimed at strengthening climate resilience through legal and institutional mechanisms. The meeting will also introduce a Monitoring and Accountability Tool to track climate policy progress, engage with key stakeholders such as UNEP, and outline future strategies for climate legislation. Through these efforts, ANPCC seeks to ensure Africa’s legislative alignment with global climate commitments while addressing region-specific challenges.
